This is an exceptional course. I give it 10 out of 10!
The heart of the Drawing Cartoon Course consists of three high quality videos. All videos together are over 2 hours and 20 minutes long.
There is also a PDF document that lists the shortcut keys. There are three custom brushes and an intro video welcoming you into the training course and showing you how to install the brushes into Corel Painter.
If you Don’t Have Corel Painter!
If you do not have Corel Painter no problem. If you decide to purchase this program, there is a link to where you can download a trial version of Corel Painter for free. So this way you can get started right away. If you want, download the trial version right now! Corel Painter Trial
If You Only Have Adobe Photoshop!
If you only have Adobe Photoshop, that is ok too. Everything in the three videos can be applied in Photoshop as well. All of the concepts are the same.
How do I begin cartooning, and what are the types of steps I could follow for the basics in drawing cartoon animals? I am interested in drawing, but need help on where to start.
Before you can begin cartooning you need to be able to draw realistic things -then distort them to be drawn easier or faster. You also should watch alot of cartoons and look at alot of comic books and "study" the art form. Hayao miyazaki’s works, Disney, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, old cartoons are the best, you can watch alot of them on youtube.com . for drawing animals there are lots of books you can buy or get from the library.
http://www.cartoonbrew.com/ this web site has a lot of links and things about cartoon and animation that should help. Also looking at photographs of animals as a reference . For the lion king the studio brought in lions for animators to study from. You can go to your local zoo too. -good luck

I spent this morning sketching a butterfly, but then decided to see how it would look as a cartoon. It took about 3 hours to get it right, but hey, I’m still learning.
With the techniques taught in Cartoon Paint, I found it really easy to get the different sections done without spoiling anything I had already finished. Drawing Cartoon Animals is a lot easier than I thought it would be, and I am really enjoying it.
I am using a graphic tablet and Corel Painter, and the course includes a few special brushes that also make it easier. I did try drawing with a mouse, but the pen and tablet feel so much more natural. It’s just like drawing on paper only so much easier to correct any mistakes. I can highly recommend using a graphics tablet if you are doing cartoon drawing on your computer.
Feel free to leave any questions about Cartoon Paint in the comments section and I will be happy to try and answer them

CARTOON PAINT ROCKS! This is the first time I have used this course and I can’t draw!
After watching the videos and following the techniques, I ended up with this! It’s probably not a typical cartoon drawing, but boy did I have fun doing this. Now I am wondering how I’ll go with more practice. Maybe if I become good enough, I can do some illustrating and make a bit of money from it.
I can see a lot of things I can improve, but for a first attempt that didn’t take very long to do, I think it’s OK.
